What is a Rolled Bronze Bushing?

Rolled bronze bushings (often referred to as Wrapped Bronze Bearings or FB090 series) are thin-walled plain bearings made from high-density bronze strips. Unlike traditional cast bronze bushings, they are manufactured through a rolling process that ensures uniform wall thickness and superior material density.

Designed for high-load, low-speed applications, these bushings feature specially indented lubrication pockets (diamond or round oil sockets) on the sliding surface. This design serves as a lubricant reservoir, significantly extending service intervals and reducing friction in initial startup conditions.

Standard

The industry standard for wrapped bronze bearings. A tin-bronze alloy offering excellent wear resistance, high fatigue strength, and good corrosion resistance.

  • Composition: Cu Rem, Sn 8.0%, P <0.4%
  • Hardness: HB 110-150
  • Best For: Construction machinery, agricultural equipment.

CuSn6.5P

CW452K
Soft Grade

A slightly softer alloy with higher elasticity. Often used where better formability or slightly different magnetic properties are required.

  • Composition: Cu Rem, Sn 6.5%, P 0.1%
  • Hardness: HB 90-120
  • Best For: Electrical components, lower load bushings.
