Powder Metallurgy
Sintered Bushings
Engineered for high-volume efficiency. Oil-impregnated self-lubricating bearings offering consistent quality and cost-effectiveness for automotive, electric motors, and industrial applications.
What is a Powder Metallurgy Bushing?
Also known as a sintered bushing, this component is produced by compacting precision metal powders into a mold and sintering them at high temperatures.
The unique manufacturing process creates a controlled porous structure within the metal matrix. These microscopic pores are vacuum-impregnated with lubricant oil, which is released during operation to create a hydrodynamic film, ensuring long-term self-lubrication without external maintenance.
Microscopic pores store up to 30% oil by volume.
Why Switch to Sintered Bronze/Iron?
Self-Lubricating
Oil-impregnated pores release lubricant automatically during rotation, reducing friction and eliminating the need for external greasing.
Mass Production Consistency
The sintering process ensures excellent dimensional repeatability. Ideal for high-volume automotive and appliance manufacturing.
Cost Efficiency
Near-net-shape manufacturing minimizes material waste and machining time compared to solid turned metal bushings.

Comparison: When to Choose Powder Metallurgy?
| Bushing Type | Ideal Scenario | Cost (Vol) | Maintenance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Powder Metallurgy (Sintered) | High volume, medium load, hard-to-reach areas requiring self-lubrication. | Low | None (Self-Lube) |
| Solid Bronze (Cast/Turned) | High load, severe impact, dirty environments (with grease grooves). | High | Regular Greasing |
| Bimetal / Wrapped | Heavy load + Thin wall requirements. | Medium | Periodic |
